Weekend Favorites | October 20th 2014

How cool of a costume is this?! I am guessing you know what this is implying but if not its's pop art. I love pop art and never really get tired of seeing it. Art like this is always so fun and it looks so realistic on her face to. To learn how to do this cool technique head on over to Sassy Street.

I am not one to wear dresses frequently just because I feel more comfortable in jeans. However over the summer I found some cute dresses and got into wearing them a bit. I love this dress because it can be transitioned into fall and even winter. The long sleeves will keep you cozy and you can add tights and leggings underneath. I also just can't get over these booties, I would definitely wear heels more if I had these. To see more close ups head on over to What Courtney Wore.

DIY Pizza Slice + Delivery Boy Couples Costume

Still need more ideas on Halloween costumes? I got you! If your looking for a couples costume this is great, I mean who doesn't like pizza and the cute delivery guy. You could even be one or the other and go solo dolo. To get step by step slide on over to Studio Diy.

oversized blanket scarf… cute!

I am all over the plaid trend this season. I really want a plaid scarf like this but I can't find one in my price range, aka something not over 15 dollars because I am frugal. This is exactly what I want it to look like because I think it would keep my neck extra warm. Your gonna wanna see the rest of this outfit, so sashay on over to Southern Curls and Pearls.

Black Candy/Toffee Apples

Candy apples are good in so many settings- fairs, parties, Christmas, Halloween, and the list goes on and on. They are called "candy" apples but an apple a day keeps the doctors away, especially with candy! Am I right ladies?! There are so many variations you can do with this but these are poison candy apples, just in time for Halloween! To get the recipe whip on over to Simply Delicious.

Boyfriend | The Macadame - 4

Orange is such a wow color and a perfect contrast to darker fall colors like army green and black. I have heels similar to these and although I don't wear them often I love them. This orange clutch is to live for as well, especially paired with the striped blouse and boyfriend jeans. To see the whole outfit strut on over to The Macadames.

Lets Talk Passion | October 17th 2014

One of my favorite classes this semester is an elective called Finding Your Voice. I like this class so much that I wish it wasn't just one semester. Also it doesn't hurt when you have a really good professor. In class last week we were talking about passion and if we should follow it, if you can have more than one, and why people think our generation shouldn't.

"Never underestimate the power of passion" #quotes #inspiration

How do you even know what your passion is? I think a good way to identify something your passionate about is noticing the feeling of joy and jubilation when you do something. When someone can talk about the same thing all the time with continuous excitement that is a sign to me that that might be something they are passionate about. It is important to know that you don't only have to have one passion. You can be passionate about a lot of things. For me personally I am passionate about fashion. As I get older I have realized that I am also passionate about food. I love trying new foods and making them and eating in general! Although I am going to school for fashion that doesn't mean I have to give up all things food either.

We watched a Ted talk (which you can watch here) and one of the most important things that stood out to me was that your passion doesn't have to be your job. There is always this emphasis on if your job isn't what you love then it will be horrible. This is exactly what I thought. While it would be great if everyone could do things they love as a job, they don't have to give up their passion just because it's not there 9-5.
Have you found your passion yet? If not it's okay! I didn't realize I wanted to go to school for fashion till my senior year of high school when I had to choose and fast. I don't know what I want to do in it or what I will do when I graduate but I do know I love it.

Many think the younger generation is to focused on passion. To that I say what's so bad about wanting to do something you love and that makes you happy? Isn't that what we live for?

What are you passionate about?

Halloween Costumes | October 15th 2014

I love reality TV. It's a bad habit but it's SO entertaining I mean how can you not get a kick out of it?!
I don't know why I didn't think of this costume. This is play off of Toddlers and Tiaras which I love by the way. This costume is super easy to diy. All you really need for this is a nice dress, sash, a stuffed animal, and a bad attitude.

How could I keep Elsa out of the line up. I actually have never seen Frozen, but with everyone talking about it and singing the songs I basically know the movie. Even without seeing the movie who wouldn't want to be Elsa? Am I right, or am I right?

I was literally a witch for Halloween like 4 years in a row. My costume never looked this cute by the way.  Witch costumes are pretty common but you can make it your own and as long as you wear a witch hat everyone will be able to tell who you are!

Not only is Wednesday hump day, but it's also a great Halloween costume to. She is personally my favorite character from the Adams Family. Most women own a little black dress, shoes, and tights so all you really need is long hair or a wig. I would say you could nix the wig and just go all natural but we don't want people not knowing who you are.

Who doesn't love the minions from Despicable Me. They are so darn cute I want one to carry around in my pocket. Also this costume is pretty recognizable so no questions of what you are. Don't you just hate that?!

I present to you the fashion blogger costume. I invented this myself because fashion blogging is basically a career in itself. For this you can basically wear anything you want but I am liking this plaid!

Weekend Favorites | October 13th 2014

Mae Amor - Fall Layers: SPANX denim, Jeffrey Campbell booties, army jacket, plaid, flannel, BaubleBar geode necklace

Army green and flannels are a staple this fall, last fall, and well every fall. I love pairing these two pieces with booties because it dresses it up a bit more. Also side note, I really need to try the pumpkin spice latte from Starbuck's. I have been getting into drinking coffee and I actually like it, expect for it making me pee constantly! To see more shots of this perfect fall outfit head over to Mae Amor!

Black white and pink office | Lark & Linen Interior Design

I really love this accent wall. White sometimes can be to plain and a bold color can sometimes be to much. Black and white go so well together and it adds a sense of personality without being overwhelming. You seriously would be doing yourself a favor if you went to see this rest of this gorgeous house on Clarke & Linen.

Apple and cream cheese toaster strudel

How good do these look?! I can see eating one now on a cold, rainy day. This my friend is an apple and cream cheese toaster strudel. Just looking at it makes my mouth water. Want a delish fall treat? Head on over to She Knows.

I have been debating about getting a puffer vest and an anorak type jacket. I am always cold so I think an actual jacket would do me more justice than a puffer vest. I really can't decide when people create outfits around them like this. I like being comfortable especially during the fall and this is the epitome of comfort. I just discovered this blog and really like her style. Head on over to Classy Girls Wear Pearls.

Garlic Parmesan Roasted Broccoli - This comes together so quickly with just 5 min prep. Plus, it's the perfect and easiest side dish to any meal!

Have you ever had parmesan roasted broccoli? If not your missing out tremendously! While I love steamed broccoli this takes it to a whole other level. I haven't perfected the skill yet but this recipe should help me out. I have come to the realization that a lot of things that you think you won't like you do. So head on over to Damn Delicious because this is damn delicious.

A plaid scarf and a cape jacket is definitely on my wish list. I love the pairing of the plaid and stripes- it's genius really. I might even have to add a pair of black rain boots to my wish list to! Head on over to Atlantic-Pacific for more gorg ensembles.

Instagram Favorites: Part 3 | October 10th 2014

If you have been following me for a while you know my love for Instagram. I am 100% positive that I follow way more people than people that actually follow me. It actually used to bother me, but I don't want people who don't enjoy my photos to follow me. Furthermore, I don't think that is what it's really about for me anymore. I just love getting a glimpse into others lives, ideas, and happiness. This is my third installment in my Instagram fav series and don't fret because there will be many more! If you missed part 1 and 2 you can click here & here. Hopefully you find someone that interest you and you can spread the love.

I love her feed because one, can we just state the obvious that she looks gorg. Secondly, her pictures look so professional and it makes me a baby bit jelly beans. Lastly, her style is on point, and though a lot of her pictures are selfies (if you got it flaunt it!) you still see a little peak into her wardrobe.

Username: Aubreykinch
I feel like most pregnant people are so happy, that they make me wanna be happy! I love her blog which is how I stumbled upon her Instagram. She is so a friend in my head, as Wendy Williams would say. I tend to follow people whose photographs I know I will never get tired of looking at and this account definitely achieves that.

Username: Nycdining
Want to be in the know to where to eat in NYC? This is your girl. Wanna not feel guilty about indulging? This is your girl. Want to have a good laugh? This is your girl. Want to see food that makes your mouth water?! You get the point. I have never been to NYC so to see all the eats is pretty darn cool. I also just think the girl behind the account is super funny and another friend in my head. Lastly, food makes me happy and looking at this food makes me extremely happy!

Username: thefashionablybroke
I seriously like every picture on this account;good thing they have a lot of followers so they can't tell. I love food, fashion, and lifestyle, so when that's wrapped all into one, it's amazing! It's two sisters and they have a blog as well! I just want their closet because they definitely don't dress broke to me!

Username: Linhwinn
If you like style/fashion bloggers you will love this account. I like her style a lot because it's different than mine. Also, her food pictures make my mouth water-like seriously can I be invited to dinner?! I have been following her for a while and her feed doesn't disappoint.

Username:Properhunt
I think I also stumbled upon this account by going to her blog. Now this is a mom who can dress and has excellent taste, not just in clothing but furnishings to. Her daughter is the cutest as well. Definitely visit her blog and Instagram it has great content.

Username:Jaclynhill
I actually found this account through Youtube. She is a beast at makeup as you can see. I don't wear makeup that much, but I definitely commend people who have this much skill. Her account also has such cute #ootd's. Definitely check out her YouTube for great makeup tutorials.

Username:Meg_legs
I seriously dig her style and am a little jelly of her wardrobe. Can we just talk about this flannel skirt! This is a great account to follow if you like fashion and flannels, like me!

Username:Kelsiefields
Me and my sister agreed that if we were every reincarnated we would wanna come back as red heads because they are so fierce! Is that even a usual thing to talk about? Anyways, I LOVE her account because sometimes people can seem fake on social media, but she doesn't. I not only lover her hair, but her style as well. It's not like mine but that's the beauty of fashion!

I could go on and on forever, but I will spare you the extra long post! I love doing these and I hope you like them to because I will be doing lots more in the future!

Sweater Weather | October 8th 2014

Sweater Weather

I don't love cold weather but I do love cold weather clothing! I know I am weird. I basically wear sweaters all season because I am always cold anyways, but now I have a legit reason! My favorite type of sweaters are the over-sized knit ones that can be paired with leggings because they cover your butt. I lived in fleece leggings last winter and fall. I also love the fuzzy sweaters and cardigans because they are so cozy. My favorite color in sweaters this season is mustard, and graphic crew sweaters are surprisingly multiplying in my wardrobe. What is your favorite sweater style and color?

Sweater Weather Picks

Chicnova Fashion brown top / H M sweatshirts hoody, $24 / H M sweater, $40 / H M blue top, $24 / AĆ©ropostale aeropostale sweater / H M blue top, $13 / H M long sleeve top, $21 / Topshop red t shirt

Forever 21 and H&M are two of my favorite places to get sweaters and cardigans because your girl is frugal. I already have a few from H&M that were like $13 dollars and I wear them constantly! I will link all the places to find these below. Most are from H&M, and one or two from TopShop and Aeropostale. Which one is your favorite? Mine is definitely  #1 and #2.

Weekend Favorites | October 6th 2014

This color of green is my favorite color and works with every season.  I love cropped sweaters for fall because they can be worn with high-waisted pants and still keep you warm. Also I just need to point out this cross-body bag- it's basically to live for. Head on over to Life of A Lady Bear to see the gorg heels!

I have just come to the realization that I like shrimp. I always used to say I didn't like it, and probably didn't at one point, but as I get older my taste buds are exploding! By that I mean I like a whole bunch of foods I have never liked before. I actually had shrimp three days in a row. One of the days was this pasta dish I made from The Realistic Nutritionist. It didn't turn out as creamy, but it was still pretty good, maybe the third time will be the charm.

count down the days until halloween with this free printable countdown on aliceandlois.com

The countdown for Halloween has already begun, but better late than never! Christmas is my favorite holiday, but I do like Halloween as well, especially because of the candy. Candy corn is one of my favorite Halloween treats. This countdown is festive if you like to decorate and can be printed for free. Head on over to Alice & Lois to get in the spirit.

Castle | The Macadames - 10

I am really digging this outfit. I have some pants similar to these from H&M and although they are too big I still love the pattern and wear them occasionally. This outfit makes me want to wear them more! Patterned anything really is a good way to spice up an outfit, especially a simple blouse like this and simple shoes like those. Also, this outfit is a great transition from summer to fall. To see more close ups slide on over to The Macadames.

Another shrimp dish, I am hooked! This dish is from Applebee's and it's amazing, seriously. This the Thai Shrimp Salad and it's not only delish but only 390 calories, which is pretty good for takeout. I don't usually put dressing on my salads but the dressing for this one is tangy, sweet, and a little spicy= so good (get in on the side though).

Hope Your Monday is/was swell!

Lost Photographs | October 3rd 2014

I always have to many pictures on my phone because I like to keep everything. One could say I hoard my photos, but I would rather see it as keeping lots of memories. Maybe I should just get them printed and call it a day. What is something/things you refuse to get rid of?

I think I mentioned it before, but we went to Busch Gardens a couple of weekends ago and it was so fun. If you haven't been definitely put it on your bucket list. It's a great amusement park if you don't like to ride rides, but also if you do. We rode all the major coasters and the longest we had to wait was 15 minutes. #score

Last week for one of my fashion classes we visited Cotton Incorporated and it was so informative. Also, there is a cotton commercial with Hayden Pantierre and she was wearing this exact yellow dress and used this closet as a backdrop! Let's just I was really excited. This is the closest thing to celebrity interaction I have had, unless you count sitting in the same chair as Obama.

Words really can't justify this steak I had for dinner one night last weekend. I will just say it was ten times as good as it looks!

I am really getting into plaid for the fall season. You will see this army jacket a lot-brace yourself.

I like to take selfies with my mom, my mom likes to take selfies by herself.

We went to a festival this past weekend and black was not the right color to wear! It was so hot but I am not ready for the cold weather yet! Don't pay attention to my ashy, veiny feet, and instead look at these gorg sandals from Kohl's.

Shirt- Marshalls
Jeans-Aeropostale
Headband-Forever 21
Sandals- Kohl's

HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!
