Weekend Favorites | June 30th 2014

Fancy Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

I have always loved cheese! Sharp cheddar, regular cheddar, provolone, feta, blue cheese and just a few of my favorite cheeses. Which leads me to this mouth-watering sandwich above- the grilled cheese. How good does this look?! Doesn't this make you want to go make one right now?! This is a fig, almond butter and cheese grilled cheese sandwich, and I have never had figs or almond butter but it looks soo good. Head on over to A Beautiful Mess to make this tasty entree.

I am such a pants type of person but I have really been getting into skirts and shorts for summer. This textured skirt is to live for in my book. The detail on this skirt is so pretty and can be dressed up or down easily depending on where your going. Also I am loving the color super chic. Head on over to La Petite Noob to see the whole sha-bang.

Alaina Kaczmarski's Chicago Apartment Tour #theeverygirl

Open shelving has become a really big thing in kitchens these days. I think it's fun especially if you have colorful dinnerware and appliances. Also, I think open shelving makes you keep things neat and tidy. This isn't exactly open shelving, but I am digging this baker rack storage. To see more scoot on over to The Every Girl,  the apartment is a must see!

I literally love the inside of this house and I really didn't want to spam you with every single room. I just decided to pick the gorg outside and let you delve into the fabulous-ness of this house yourself. If you want to see more (I know you do!) move it on over to Young House Love! This is one of my favorite home blogs by the way.

I have been really getting into nail design, but some are so tricky for a beginner like me. I picked this as one of my faves because it's simple, easy, and pretty. I am loving that blue color, actually almost any pastel  this  season. To get a couple more nail ideas make your way on over to Adventures In Fashion!

My favorite baked french fry method

These are brown sugar, oven-baked fries. Let's just take a moment to let that sink in. Ok now that your mouth is watering, lets talk about these. These look and sound like heaven in my mouth. These obviously aren't the healthiest thing, but they aren't fried, so that's a plus! Want to make this with that delish grilled cheese? Shimmy on over to A Beautiful Mess!

Hope your enjoying your start to the week, and thanks for visiting!

Weekend Favorites | June 23rd 2014

How fancy is this fridge?! I think gold stripping a white plain fridge is a great way to spice up a kitchen. If you can't attain stainless steel appliances this is a great way to make a refrigerator look not so boring. Head on over to The Every Girl to see the rest of Ruth Eileen's home tour.

Flower Purse

I am loving this floral clutch, and I don't even carry clutches that much. This clutch is great for parties over the summer because it's super duper cute, and who wants to keep up with a huge purse at a party anyways. Fake flowers have so many purposes it's ridiculous! Want to bloom up your purse swag? Make your way on over to Design Improvised to make your own.

I have 2 chambray shirts and I am in LOVE with them. If I could get away with wearing them everyday I would. These are super great to have in your closet because they go great with other denims and can be used for layering. I have one from Old Navy and another one from Walmart and I love them both! To see the rest of the outfit slide it on over to The Pink Wings.

Before and after

The clean sleek white look is really doing it for me right now. It's super simple and fresh and makes it easier to incorporate pops of color. This is also such a transformation from the how it looked before, such an improvement, in a good way! To see the whole transformation scoot on over to Oh Everything Handmade!

Of course I can't do a weekend favorites post without some floral crowns. They are perfect for summer's  and I am in love with them! You can honestly buy theses, but it's hard to find really full ones that are inexpensive. If you make your own you can customize it how you want and tell people you made it-it's a win-win! Move it on over to Sassy Sparrow to get the deets!

Plan B anna evers DIY pineapple smoothie-

I really want to make my own smoothies, but the past few times I have made them they didn't taste good- at all. This pineapple smoothie sounds and looks so delicious I think I am going to have to try my hand at making smoothies again. It has coconut in it, which I am really not a fan of, but I can always try it and modify it. For the directions on this yummy drink head on over to Plan B.

Floral Arrangement DIY | June 20th 2014

Hey  guys! So today I have a diy I was super excited about doing for the longest time. There are probably a lot of variations of this on the web, but I adapted this idea from LagunaBeachLove10 on YouTube and she has awesome diys. This diy fake water vase was super easy and the actual labor takes like 30 minutes. This is a great alternative to real flowers because they have to be replaced so frequently, even though they are soo pretty. I will definitely be doing this again and I actually think I have enough solution to one more arrangement. #score

What You Need:
+ Silk flowers of your choice (I choose these because they had thick stems that look realistic)-Michael's (Use Retail Me Not for coupons on this and water)
+ Simulated Water-Joann's
+ Mason Jar/ Vase-Michael's

What You Need Based off Simulated Water (Follow directions on specific brand)
+ Gloves
+ Disposable container
+ Disposable Stirring Device

+ Take flowers off of stem so you can arrange them how you want and so it looks more realistic!

+ Stir the solutions together for the allotted time on box, and then pour mixture carefully into desired vase/jar.

+ Arrange flowers how you want, you have enough time, so don't fret. You then have to let it sit overnight.
Then Wala you have a new floral arrangement that will last a lifetime!

Baked fruit 3 ways

How scrumptious do these look?! I think they look delish and what's even better is that they are healthier options for a tasty treat. Pictured are grapefruits, peaches and apples of course. If you want the recipes on how to make these treats head on over to A Beautiful Mess.

top-shop-white-pleated-skirt

The summer is all about getting dressed up and going to parties. It's not here quite yet but you catch my drift. This outfit screams summer to me, it's colorful, fun, and how can you not notice those metallic pumps! Head on over to one of the new blogs on my read list: Pink Peonies.

How amaze balls is this little girls room?! If I could go back to being a kid, I definitely could live with something like this.  I could actually go for my room looking like this now, just saying. You have to go check out the rest of the room on Vintage Revivals! Also check out this amazing room for her other daughter. I seriously can't get enough! I am room struck, if that's a thing. Head over to this link here to see this room as well!

Neissa Brown Springmann | Photo by Nicole Mlakar

I always find it super cool to see what people are eating, because well I love to eat to. I have learned over the past couple of months that eating healthy can taste good and be fun. I have stuck to the fact that if something is healthy, but my taste buds aren't feeling it I will not be eating or drinking it. I thought this post was cool because you get to look into  fitness guru Neissa Brown's eating rituals. This is in no way saying you should eat like she does because everyone's different, but try some new combinations! If you want to see the weekly journal head on over to Camille Styles!
P.S.- I am personally down for trying the turkey burger loaded with veggies and sweet potato fries! YUM!

Jogger pants are SO comfortable. It's an acceptable way to wear pants that could be pajamas but aren't. I love this outift because it's not just all black and white, it's paired with be beige which I don't think I would have done but looks really well put together. What to see more details close up? Slide on over to La Petite Noob!

If you guys weren't aware I have a serious obsession with potatoes. I am pretty sure I eat potatoes almost everyday, not in every meal of course (aka:breakfast), but if I could I would! The obsession is so real when I saw these potatoes my mouth started to water! Don't they look super crispy and good! Head on over to Hey Wanderer to get the deets to these scrumptiously looking potatoes.

Trending: At the Bohemian Wedding | June 9th 2014

Spring and Summer are THE seasons for weddings. Each wedding that a couple share is usually unique to them, which means you can go to weddings with a different number of themes. To help you on the many themes of weddings I thought I would put together a mini guide on what to wear to to different types and/or themes of weddings.

First up on the list is the bohemian wedding. Bohemian in general gives me a warm weather vibe so it's no surprise it's a hot commodity for wedding themes.

The Bohemian Wedding

SN:I always wondered if it was acceptable to wear white to a wedding where the bride isn't wearing it. Some say yes some say no, but we will just keep it on the safe side and go bold like the bride.

1. Bohemian is well known, in my opinion for being very free and laid back. This green dress says bohemian in a more dressed up fashion.

2. Take in "there" with a pair of monochromatic sandals that have that chunky heel for comfort.

3.Don't forget to add some accessories! Remember that we want to look good, but not enough to upstage the bride or bring to much attention to us; it's the brides day not ours. I am loving the coin accessory trend it's very old/new chic.
4. Can't forget the sun hat. This accessory is great at any outdoor wedding, but really gives off the classic vintage vibe!

5. Nothing says bohemian more than loose "effortless-looking" curls and a head-wrap. Keep it chic, simple, and bring a hair-bow to tie it up if you get to hot; the headband makes it still look tres-chic!

+You can check out other sets of mine on Polyvore here!
+Also, check out the rest of the wedding pictures from the bohemian wedding on Green Wedding Shoes!

Weekend Favorites| June 9th 2014

Father's Day is almost here and it's time to brainstorm some gift ideas. I personally feel like my dad has everything, so sometimes I find it difficult to find the perfect gift. I love printables like these because they are cute, fun, personal, and can be made right at home. If you want to get real fancy with it you can even add a trophy. Scurry on over to Confetti Sunshine to get your own!

Spinach Alfredo Pizza

Pizza is my all time favorite food. I have come to realize pizza can be made healthy and taste delicious, but nothing beats a nicely crusted, cheese oozing, mouth watering, fresh pizza. Just looking at this makes me want to eat it NOW. Is your mouth watering for this goodness? Head on over to Let's Dish Recipes for the step-by-step!

DIY Donut Sunglasses

How adorable are these donut sunglasses?! I have realized that sunglasses are a life saver, not just in the summer but anytime the sun decides to blind me with it's rays. I can't even begin to tell you the numerous times I have had to stop the car because the sun was blazing down into my corneas. These sunglasses would be perfect for me because they are round, which are my favorite type, and they are donuts! Do you love these donut sun blockers too? Make your way on over to Studio Diy for the tutorial!

ASOS Kimono - The Darling Detail

I haven't come across many fashionista where I like almost everything they wear but The Darling Detail comes pretty close. If you have been keeping up with my Weekend Favorites then you know I have this blog on them quite often. If we could trade closets I would secretly be a baby bit excited. Head on over to the blog, and maybe you will like it just as much as I do!

DIY Donut Floppy Hat

I couldn't be done with donuts just yet. Even though National Donut Day has passed it's never to late for donut apparel or even one as a tasty treat. This diy also from Studio Diy is not only great for the beach, but is super nice for a day out on the town, and unique. How many people own donut hats?! Head on over to the blog once again to see this super easy tutorial.

Canning Jar Magic Bullet

I have been longing for a magic bullet because they are so handy and convenient. My most major set back is the  price. Right now I couldn't see spending $50-100 dollars on one, when I could technically use a blender still. This idea I came across on Bread & With It is so genius. In simplest form you attach a jar to your blender and BAM you have a magic bullet! To get the exact directions visit the blog!

STILL IN: Overalls | June 4th 2014

Trending In: Overalls

1. White Overalls: White is crisp and clean and definitely has made a comeback on the scene. White overalls are great because they aren't just plain blue denim, and can be paired with almost any pattern. I of course think they would look amazing with jellies because they are my new favorite warm weather shoe.

2. Denim Overalls: Denim overalls are a classic and perfect for the summer, which is right around the cul-de-sac! This can be a go to outfit when your not sure what to wear. Just pair some overalls with a crop top and your choice of accessory and you ready to go! I think booties can still be worn but so your feet don't stink wear ones with cut outs, and a hat to block you from the blazing sun!

3. Full Leg Overalls: Last but especially not least is the classic pant overalls. Usually you can find some that have the same breathable effect as boyfriend jeans which works well in warm weather. You can pair this with a crop top or on a breezy day a light weight  sweater. Spice up this classic look with a bold silver shoe and a long-chained necklace.

Weekend Favorites | June 2nd 2014

diy watercolor table numbers | almost makes perfect

I have become obsessed with bottle diys. You can do so many thing to recycle old bottles it's ridiculous...in a good way! I love this ombre effect used on them, which has been a huge trend in the diy world. I have a very, very long list of diy's I want to try and this needs to be added asap! Head on over to Almost Makes Perfect to make this yourself!

I don't know what it is about denim on denim but I am really digging it. I love jeans and probably wear them way more than I should, but you can do so many things with them! Denim on denim can definitely be pulled off fairly easily, and makes getting ready in the morning such a breeze. Make your way on over to Pink Wings to get more inspiration.

DIY Lightbulb Vase - The Merrythought

I am so into flower displays for spring and summer. While real flowers can't beat fake flowers, they don't have to be replaced, they are less expensive in the long run, and a lot of them look real. I really like this diy aas well because you can just use old light bulbs you don't need anymore! Put a little flower power in your life and head on over to The Merry Thought!

Summer is the season of parties, whether it be a housewarming party or a wedding. It seems like everyone loves this season, can you blame them! I love this diy wrapping paper because who doesn't love pineapple, and it's so summerish. This is also great because when everyone asks where you got it, you can tell them it's a diy, Booyah! Head on over to Whimsey Box to start wrapping your gifts in this fruity goodness.

I am definitely one of those people who will wear the same outfit numerous times, especially if it's a clothing piece I adore. I love this one particularly because the looks actually have distinct differences. Also, every girl needs a little black dress! Head on over to The Sassy Street to see the deets and more.

gluten free vegan fruit and nut bars

Rounding out my weekend favorites with a delish looking recipe! I have really been into fruits and Honey Bunches of Oats (which is my all time favorite cereal) so why not combine it into a bar?! These are great with eggs for breakfast or even an afternoon snack. Mosey on over to Not Your Standard who is the creator of the recipe, side note this may be one of my favorite new blogs! Also head on over to The Luxe Life to see the actual recipe!
